  1. I wonder if Roy will stop in to visit Bobby Goldsboro at The Villages/Savannah Center while in town for the Orange Blossom Opry concerts on January 14-15, 2012.

    1. Roy's bus had problems on the way down to Florida so he didn't have time to do any visiting. Maybe next time.

  3. How can I obtain an autographed picture? How much are they, and does Mr. Clark sign them himself, or does one of his staff members sign for him?

He doesn't let anyone sign his name. Roy personally signs everything.

  8. Dear Mr. Clark,

Thanks to you and your staff for opening this blog!

This week, I wrote a blog posting about your incredible work, especially as it relates to your ability to synergize country, blues, and jazz music, and how timeless your playing truly is. Should you wish to read and/or comment on it, I would be honored. It is also on Blogspot at http://timkatent.blogspot.com. I look forward to checking in on new events here.

    Best wishes in music,
    Kathryn Ballard Shut

  9. mr. clark,
as an IGNORANT teenager in the 70's, i was cock sure that only led zeppelin, jimi hendrix, the who, etc were the only worthy musicians.

i discovered the repeats of "hee haw" on rfd-tv, and now with a more mature, open minded ear and eye, i discovered one of the greatest stringed instrument players the world has ever known. along with bobby thompson, grandpa jones, stringbean, and the many guests, i again realized: "youth is wasted on the wrong people".

    sadly, arrogant ignorance is not.

well, better late than never, and you are still on this planet to maybe read this.

with awe, and fasination, i post this.

thankyou for sharing your AWESOME talent.

  10. Hey Roy! A number of years ago you recorded an LP titled "Stringing along with the blues" - Isn't it time to record another Blues instrumental CD?

I have been playing Classical and Flamenco guitar for over 40 years. I first wanted to play as a child after watching the odd couple episode with Roy Clark. I was a young boy. Roy Clark is a genius. I just wish some day I could him. I also love how he pays violin. Thanks Mr. Clark.

Thank you Mr. Clark...some of my most treasured memories are sitting with my Grandparents in their living room watching you play and sing on Hee Haw and various other programs. (and my Mom and I LOVED you on the Beverly Hillbillies as well!) Thank you for coming into our homes and giving us such beautiful music/singing...and some of the most memorable entertainment ever!

  13. Roy ws born in Virginia, family moved to Washington, DC on 1st street s.e. for work. Entire family played stringed instruments on the front porch. Mom, Dad Brother Sister etc. Jimmy Dean was stationed at Bolling AFB and would come to the house and pick. I think the first gig they did was at the Stagecoach in Anacostia, then to 14th st NW at Starlight[?] Showed up on Hee-Haw in the 60's. He married, lived in Davidsonville, Md, divorced, remarried. I remember he locked us in a teen center tower in Highlands. Always laughing and a prankster. Lot of fun.
